SEYMOUR RIVER - SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENT BLASTING

Shortly before salmon spawning season, a large rock slide resulted in the deposition of a massive boulder in the path of Seymour River. As salmon were voyaging upstream, it was detrimental to the health of the salmon species to use minimally invasive rock demolition methods.

As time was of the essence, and the size of the boulder was too large to break with handheld machinery, Apex Rock Breaking Solutions was brought in to assist with the blasting the boulder. Using deflagrating cartridges, our seasoned blaster was able to crack the boulder into smaller-sized rocks allowing salmon to continue their swim up the rough rapids of the river.

Deflagrating cartridges use gas pressure to break the rock, and minimize impact of flying debris, toxic gases and shockwaves to any sensitive fish species swimming nearby.
